# Understanding Projects

## How Projects work

A project is a planned initiative carried out within defined constraints such as time, budget, and resources to achieve specific objectives. In the context of the **DesoFlow** platform, the project aims to establish a **decentralized, trustless, and transparent content model**, taking control away from centralized platforms and returning ownership and economic value to creators and contributors.

The project has a clear vision:

* Enable peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing with verifiable on-chain provenance.
* Distribute revenue transparently and incentivize reputation building.
* Provide distributed, secure storage that is not dependent on centralized servers.
* Offer a user-friendly desktop client to simplify content creation, storage, and review processes.

Key stakeholders include content creators, reviewers, storage node operators, end users, developers, and governance token holders — each playing a critical role in the sustainability of the ecosystem.

## How Projects Work

Projects progress through a structured lifecycle that includes **planning, execution, and evaluation**.\
For DesoFlow, this process works as follows:

#### Identifying the Problem and Setting Goals

* Address issues in current centralized content platforms, such as opaque revenue distribution, forced advertising, and single points of failure.
* Establish clear objectives for decentralization, transparency, and fair revenue sharing.

## Design and Scope Definition

**In Scope:** Protocol development, desktop client, P2P network deployment, smart contract creation, and governance framework.\
**Out of Scope:** Centralized hosting, proprietary CDNs, and traditional advertising networks.

#### Execution

* Integrate blockchain protocols with off-chain (P2P) storage.
* Develop user tools for content creation, curation, and governance participation.
* Engage with early adopter communities to validate the model.

### Feasibility and Risk Management

* **Technical feasibility:** Ensured through mature blockchain infrastructures and peer-to-peer libraries.
* **Market feasibility:** Supported by a growing creator economy and increasing demand for transparency.
* **Risks** such as scalability, regulatory changes, and user acquisition are mitigated through layer-2 solutions, legal compliance, and targeted community programs.

### Evaluation and Evolution

* Collect user feedback through alpha and beta releases.
* Adjust economic incentives, governance rules, and technical features as needed.
* Plan for long-term scalability and market expansion.

This structured approach ensures the project remains true to its mission while adapting to technological, legal, and market dynamics.
